Locate the tower in the water circuit

The RCT cooling-tower range rejects heat from circulating water to ambient air. Published RHONG materials describe its use with water-cooled chillers and other equipment requiring cooling water. In a chiller installation, the tower serves the heat-rejection circuit; it should be shown separately from the chilled-water supply to production. The tower distributes returning water so it contacts moving air before collecting in the basin.

Describe the incoming water

Provide the water flow, incoming temperature and required return temperature. Local ambient conditions influence the proposed tower selection. Include the operating schedule and identify the equipment releasing heat into the circuit. An equipment motor rating by itself does not define the water-side heat that the tower must reject.

Plan water and access

Show the tower location, pipe connections and pump arrangement. Explain the available make-up water and the site's water-treatment practice. The tower introduces its own inspection and cleaning tasks, so access to the water distribution area, fan and basin should be part of the location review.

Define the supplied equipment

A quotation should separate the tower from pumps, piping, controls and site work. Send a simple drawing of any existing circuit that will be retained. If the factory is comparing complete cooling arrangements, the air-cooled chiller page explains a different method of condenser heat rejection.
