Cutting without a sizing screen

The RG-27R is a slow-speed, screenless granulator for small sprues and molding rejects beside an injection machine. Toothed cutting elements break the material down without a screen beneath the rotor. This construction makes the incoming sprue geometry and the cutting configuration important when reviewing the required regrind.

The catalogue describes manual or robot feeding and names RG-2730R, RG-2740R and RG-2750R variants. Each variant needs its own specification; a shared series name does not make their chamber dimensions or motor ratings identical.

Check the condition of the sprue

The published catalogue instructs that scrap should be at normal temperature before cutting, to avoid hot material sticking to the blades. Include the molding cycle and the time between ejection and feeding when discussing an immediate recycling layout.

For clear or colour-sensitive products, describe the resin, contamination controls and acceptable regrind. A screenless construction alone cannot establish that recovered material meets the finished product's quality requirements.

Reach the cutting elements for cleaning

The chamber opens for cleaning and the catalogue shows blower and proportional-valve return arrangements. Plan the collection route and access between material changes. Send sprue photographs, maximum section thickness and the intended return destination. The central granulator range provides a different handling route for collected batches of scrap.
